Looking back
A coworker once told me about her sister who took photos of her child with the same teddy bear every month. It inspired me to document Grayson's growth by taking monthly photos with his first soccer ball. I'm so glad I did because of the end result. Happy birthday baby boy. I'm so in love with you!

Feeling good.
My weight loss journey has not been hugely successful yet, but I've found a new motivation. Instead of picking a special event or holiday I want to look good for months in advance, I'm trying to find one every week or two. When I have months, my mentality is not where it needs to be because I think, "Oh well, that is far away, I'll exercise tomorrow." By having dates that are closer, I have to be more accountable. Coming up:
May 12-Adult Prom party
May 19-Grayson's 1st Birthday party
May 26-a friend's birthday celebration
June 2-a get together with friends I only see every few months
June 9-a wedding reception
I'm excited to see the changes I make between now and June 9th.

Ouch
I was so excited to see this photo on Facebook. I actually thought I looked pretty good, until I saw the comment. That makes me want to cry and punch that biotch in her nasty mouth. People can be so hurtful.

Pauly D-Day
In a little more than 96 hours, I will be at Harrah's Resort in AC for DJ Pauly D's residency kick-off. I cannot freaking wait. However, there is much to take care of beforehand, like finding the right outfit. Any suggestions?

goal
The most difficult part of this whole weight loss thing is finding the time (and energy) to work out without feeling guilty. By guilty I mean I feel like I should be spending the time with Grayson since I already don't see him all day while at work. So I've decided to set a weekly exercise goal. To get over my guilt, part of my goal is to exercise with Gray by pushing his stroller while I walk instead walking alone, which also adds extra resistance. I also will treat myself to some guilt-free alone time by doing yoga at least twice a week. So my goal for this week is walking with Grayson M, W, Th and being a yogi T, F, Sat. I'm hoping by succeeding at my weekly goals, I will be getting small periodic rewards that will keep my motivation alive. Bathing suit season will be here before we know it!

Making memories
Since I was about 2 years old, my grandparents have had a time share in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. My entire family (Mama, Poppop, Mom, Dad, Megan, Michele, Aunt Marianne, Uncle George, Georgie and Adam) and I made the trip every other year and for two weeks, that was our home.
Times have changed. People have grown up, grown old, and moved away yet every time we go now, whether it only be a week or a few days, the trips are always as memorable as in the past.
This year was especially special because it was Grayson's first trip anywhere and his first round of memory making in Fla. Needless to say, with easy access to iPhones and other photo/video equipment, we have carefully logged his memories for him! Here are some of my favorites:

motivation
After 2.5 weeks and roughly 7 lbs gone, I heard my first, "Are you losing weight?" today.
It felt A-MAZING.
Nothing like a little verbal validation to keep me motivated!

Holy hot yoga.
I took my first ever hot yoga class tonight. It was INCREDIBLE. The room was 90 degrees, I was sweating profusely and loving every second. I left there feeling so light and airy, like I lost 10 lbs in 1 hour. If you live in the LV check out West End Yoga Center. It's likely you will see me there.

Namaste
So since my last post, I haven't been very good. I was home for two days on the couch doing NOTHING because I tweaked my back and could barely move. Then on top of that, I reached that time when I can't get enough food, especially carbs, into my system. So finally by yesterday, my back was feeling better and I decided to leap back into yoga.
I had been practicing regularly for about two years, then pregnancy happened and my prenatal practice was intermittent at best. I had been longing to get back into it but wasn't sure where. Luckily, Google hooked me up with a studio only about 1O minutes from my house.
I did a flow class during "happy hour" last night and IT WAS HARD. People out there who don't "get" yoga or don't think it is a workout obviously have never done yoga or have never practiced correctly. It's amazing how rusty I was at the beginning of the hour and how quickly my body snapped back into those positions 30 minutes in. Needless to say, I'm incredibly sore, but really looking forward to going again this morning! If you have never done yoga, put all of your preconceptions aside and try it. Your body will thank you.

Life is so worth it
I'm in the process of changing my life forever. I've been eating much healthier and using the MyPlate app to count calories, which helps tremendously. I feel so ready. As soon as my back feels better I'm going to begin doing Insanity like it's my religion again. Looking at hot bodies and success stories on Pinterest has refueled my motivation. This Thursday is my half birthday. By August 2, my goal is to have lost 45 pounds and be comfortable enough to wear a bikini. I'm going to also learn how to not be such a loser when it comes to blogging so I can revamp this site so people actually want to visit it and potentially gain motivation from me! Here's to me!
